And we are probably all guilty of not taking full advantage of all the sights and activities that are right on our doorsteps. 1. Kayak to Shark Island and have a picnic

Climbing the South East Pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge gives you almost the same harbour views as you get from climbing the main structure, but for a fraction of the cost. You do have to climb 200 steps to get there, but after the little burst of exercise, the views 87 meters above sea level are well worth it.

6. Remember your inner child at Luna Park

Watch the twinkly lights of Sydney Harbour as you ride the Wild Mouse, cuddle up in the Dodgems and share some candy floss at Sydney’s iconic Luna Park. The perfect date night for some good old fashioned fun.

7. Do the Inner West brewery walking tour

The inner west is now bustling with cool hangouts - Willy the boatman, Batch Brewery, Stockade and many more. Make yourself feel like you are back in Blighty and take yourselves out on an old-school pub crawl. You can’t fail to have fun. Plus, a bunch of the breweries have food trucks to line your stomachs before sampling your way through the ales.

8. Watch a drag queen show

The Imperial Hotel in Erskinville is home to Priscillas, Drag N Dine, Sydney's most flamboyant and fabulous dinner show. Need we say more. Get yourself there for big wigs, big chests and great legs all round, there is something for all and laughs a plenty at these shows. It’s also a great to get to know your fellow Swan’s sense of humour, and that can never be a bad thing!
